This helpful guide has a month to month gardening calendar for the Coachella Valley. Since our recent rains, which have produced wonderful wildflowers, have also sprouted weeds in our Cove yards. There is a good section on weed control. This is helpful information for maintaining a pleasant landscape.

Every Thursday is trash pick-up day in the Cove. Remember that trash cans need to be removed from the street and stored out of public view within 12 hours of the collection period. Failure to do so may result in a citation from Code Enforcement. More important, they are unsightly when they are left out day after day. They should be stored out of public view during the non-collection day. Please help with making our neighborhoods pleasant and reflect the pride we have in our community.

The City of La Quinta and CVWD have a project to install water- and money-saving timers on home  irrigation systems.  The city will be holding a meeting to chat with home owners about obtaining a new timer at a discount price.  If you are interested, please “conact us” through this website.  We will advise you of the meeting time.
