Congratulations to Don Adolph, re-elected mayor, Stanley Sniff, re-elected council member, and Kristy Franklin, newly elected to the council.  We wish you well as you guide our “Gem of the Desert”.

You can review their interviews by going to the October archives.

Plenty of BBQ and brews at the second annual LQAF Blues, Brews & BBQs.  Big Papa and the TCB was the second of three bands that entertained the crowds.

IF YOU VOTE ON TUESDAY…..

November 2nd, 2008

If you haven’t voted early (at the mall), Tuesday is, of course, your last day.  Be sure to check your polling place (they DO change from time to time) and study and MARK your sample ballot before you arrive.  Your precinct number and location is on the back of the sample ballot….in small print.  There may be lines, so being prepared will hurry the process along….

If you bring in your vote-by-mail (absentee) ballot, be sure all the necessary signatures are afixed.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.  If you are in line at 8:00 when the polls close, you will be allowed to vote, so hang in there.  BE SURE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD….VOTE YOUR PREFERENCES ON TUESDAY.   Local, state, school district, CVWD, COD, and federal seats are at stake.  This is your chance to make your choices.

Story Time at the Museum

November 2nd, 2008

Bring those kiddies ages 3 – 5 to the La Quinta Museum on Wednesday, November 5 for a free story time.  “Cactus Hotel” will be read by Linda Brown at 10:00 a.m. in the Community Room.  Find out who inhabits the Cactus Hotel…..in the desert, of course.   Call 564-1283 for more information.   No reservations necessary…just come on in….

AND DON’T FORGET “FIRST FRIDAY” THIS FRIDAY AFTERNOON…. stay tuned for the details.
