New exhibit at the Museum: Riding the Rails!

The opening reception for the new exhibit will take place on Friday (9th) from 5-7 p.m. Corey Wylde (Orange Empire Railway Museum) will speak briefly on the Southern Pacific Railroad and its effect on the Coachella Valley. A model railway layout and other trail goodies are featured in the second floor exhibit gallery. Come on down for the excitement, free for all ages…..

The monthly dance at the Senior Center will feature the Tough Guys and Gals Do Dance group from LQHS. These kids are HOT. They will do some exhibition dancing and mingle with the “older” dancers. $2 gets you in the door for all the fun. Friday night (9th) from 6-8:30 p,m.
La Quinta Playhouse begins fifth season

Clean-up day Saturday (10th)

Join the truly compulsive Covites, bring your (grocery) bags, scoopers, gloves, etc. and CLEAN UP the trash (and you know what) in the Preserve and the top of the Cove.
Meet others at 7:30 a.m. at either the Tecate parking lot (east end) for workingup south, or at the rest stop (west end of Tecate) for cleaning the Fred Wolff Bear Creek Nature Preserve and Trail (down north to Ensenada). Water will be furnished and large bags. The City crews will haul the off. Your volunteering will get the season off to a clean start and maybe the trashers will take the hint…..

- THE YOUNG: Story time at the Museum on Wednesday (7th) at 10:00 a.m. for ages 3-5 years. Bring your little ones….
- THE REST OF US: Don’t forget the free immunizations at the Senior Center on Tuesday (6th) from 9-1:00. Bring those insurance cards.
- SENIORS: Afternoon Queen’s Tea on Thursday (8th) at noon. Dress up in your finest. Call ahead 564-0096 and reserve your place for a mere $2.
