La Quinta Historical Society members took a tour of the Salton Sea on Saturday (April 10th) that included a stop at the newly renovated North Shore Yacht Club.  Designed by noted architect, Albert Frey, it opened in the 1960s, enjoyed its heyday, and fell into disrepair.  Riverside County redevelopment funds were used for the restoration.  Check out this BEFORE (vandalized) version:

On May 1, the restored Yacht Club will have its grand opening and the public is invited to celebrate this wonder feat at a BBQ from 10-1.  Reservations are required, and you can contact via the website at www.saltonseamuseum.org
