City Hall staff held two “table-top” drills to hone skills needed to react to The Big One (which is sure to hit us…..someday).  Teams A and B each spent three hours to talk through each person’s role when the disaster strikes.  Fire, police, Red Cross, utility,  and school district personnel interfaced with the city’s preparations as seen in the Emergency Operations Center, located in the bowels of city hall:

Are our City Emergency Team,Desert Sands Unified School District leaders really communicating to eachother for EQ emergency preparedness? If so, our safety committee at Franklin Elementary aren’t getting that communication. Our 10/15 drill was a joke.
Who will be checking on children at LQMS, Adams, Truman, and Franklin Elementary Schools? Station#32, Station #70?
We need to know that there will be First Responders, with medical supplies, on sight, and soon after the shaking stops.
Adams is one block from City Hall, and Franklin School is three. Should we bring the kids to the bowels of city hall?
We need to know at the individual school sites, that others (besides us), are thinking about the kids.
