Has anyone heard the rumbling last few days, coming from the west?  Not thunder, not an earthquake, not sonic booms.  Major equipment in the Bear Creek storm channel, courtsey of CVWD, our flood control folks.  They are cleaning up the debris and moving boulders back into the desert areas.  A clean storm channel means that flood water will quickly pass through the channel, and not back up into the detention basins at the top of the Cove.  By the way, after Katrina, FEMA commanded all U.S. flood control districts to check their channels, detention basins, etc. for possible weaknesses.  You’ll be happy to know that the stystem that protects our Cove has surpassed the standards dictated by FEMA.   You can sleep securely tonight…..zzzzz
