HEY DOGGIE FOLKS!
September 28th, 2008
One of our Cove neighbors is sponsoring a sit-down chat with candidates for City Council on October 4, at 6:30 p.m. The groups will exchange thoughts on new dogs parks for La Quinta. Free food and begerage. Call 409-2210 for more information.
IN THE MEANTIME, CHECK OUT THESE POOCHES ENJOYING THEIR SUNDAY MORNING COFFEE AT OLD TOWN COFFEE COMPANY….

Hey, “Association”….time to quit the cute doggy park minutae and get back to REAL cove issues….the Code Enforcement Nazis. Latest is that residents are receiving mailed notices with additional perceived violations.
Once again, Kay…this is NOT a gated community. If it were, we’d maybe have some security from the burglars and vandals……but it’s apparent that you and the ‘City Fathers’ have more urgent issues to address — such as wasting resources on code minutae that have indeed been grandfathered since well before incorporation in 1982.
The city needs a big ole slap in the face, and I hope it gets it when they deem fit to have an open microphone at a Council meeting, which I understand will not happen until November.
Plain and flat: shameful. And the shame is also directed right towards this silly little cove “assocication” which is fully allied with the heavy-handedness of the City. These are NOT times (take a peek at the national news) to p*ss off main street.

Sorry the announcement about a dog park meeting so offended you, Batavia. For some people, not all of us, this is an emotional issue. Just ask the host, who does not represent any particular organization in his efforts.
Why don’t you take your code enforcement concerns straight to the City Council? They DO have an “open microphone” at every single meeting for you and any others to speak your minds. Do you expect any city to have no standards at all?
I doubt if the City folks would agree that the Cove Neighborhood Association is “allied” with them. Perhaps we just try to work with them to solve problems instead of griping, which is about all we’ve heard from you.
Is there anything at all you like about La Quinta?

BATAVIA:
Safety violations that are, or may become detrimental to safety of the inhabitants of the dwellers or to the community at large are NOT grandfathered in as you claim.
Grow up! And stop dispensing heavy handed insults to the people that do their job as the job requires them to do. The mic is always open but you don’t have the guts to show up.
Further you should look at the facts before dispensing offensive remarks toward volunteers that on their own time and dime advocate on behalf of the Cove. The little cove association as you define it has done more for the community that you and your “let’s us keep our junkyards” friends will ever do.
You are just a coward that attack people by spewing your nonsense remarks, that 90% of the times are at ODD with the FACTS and the TRUTH.
I am on Main Street and I want to live in a clean and safe environment. If my home has any safety issue, or code violations, I will welcome the request to correct it and I will PROMPTLY do so.
