The Friends of the LQ Library will present Sergio and Shirley from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday the 17th of February.  Fun for the whole family, and FREE.  Join us for this interesting sound….

Kids’ Nature Walk last weekend

Ms. Healey and Ms Barrows led an eager group of young people (and adults) on a morning nature walk along the Fred Wolff Bear Creek Trail and Preserve.  They focused kids’ attention on desert plants, including root systems, transpiration, and accommodation to an arid climate.  Here’s the introduction:   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euD0hSNqsC8

  • The Desert Recreation District will sponsor another afternoon “Live Roq” concert in the Community Park from 2-4 p.m.  This week: “Common Sense”.  Bring your chairs and picnic stuff for this lively afternoon.
  • Distinguished Artists will be honored by the City of La Quinta at 3:00 p.m. in the Civic Center Park.  Join City dignitaries for the awards and refreshments.

Saturday morning (February 20) will feature another nature walk (adults) starting at 8:00 a.m. and originating at the Montezuma/Ensenada rest stop.  Flowers are just starting to pop, and Katie Barrows will lead us in our quest.  Bring sun hats, it’s already warming up out there….

The La Quinta Library, the City of La Quinta, Friends of La Quinta Library, La Quinta High School students and the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery collaborated in the design and construction of four murals depiction the four seasons.  “Le Quattro Esagioni” was unveiled recently in the children’s story area.  Take a look at
