CHP and Sheriffs helicopters regularly fly around the cove….apparently not in “chase” mode. Does anyone know if they use our normally quiet and peaceful cove as a training flight area? If so, I’d like to take a NIMBY stance, since the Cove is a natural sound bowl.

Not sure if this is the case. Sometimes police helicopters have inferred or thermal cameras that they use to scan for heat signatures that relate to Pot Grow houses. I would like to know what they are doing as well…Sometimes they fly right over my house and I can see the whites of their eyes. I’m not complaining they need to do what they need to do.

I would rather have a little noise for a few minutes in order to have the police patrol in the area. Got to keep those criminals on the run!

I have observed these flyby with attention over the past year and they are certainly not TRAINING session, but GOOD OLD PATROLING. An helicopter is not only a viable tool in “chases.” What is of concern is to see that once again patrol by LQPD cars has been scaled back in the last month.
